8TH GRADE INFORMATION...
JR. HIGH SOLO & ENSEMBLE: On Saturday we had three fine 8th grade musicians travel to Alpena Thunder Bay Junior High School to perform at the MSBOA Solo and Ensemble Event. Kalvin Lentz performed an alto saxophone solo and received a Superior Rating from the Judge. Rudy Simpson and Kalvin Lentz also performed an alto sax/tenor sax duet and received a Superior Rating as well. Barbara Lounsbury performed a clarinet solo and received an Excellent Rating from the Judge. If you see any of these fine musicians in the hall, please congratulate them on a job well done.
IMPORTANT NEWS FOR EVERYONE (8th -12th)...

THE CORSAIR TRAIL COUNCIL IS HIRING TWO EMPLOYEES TO SELL SKI PASSES at the Corsair Ski Trails this winter. The job involves working 4.5 hours on Saturday and 4.5 hours on Sunday. If you're interested in applying, you can pick up an application from Mrs. Nelkie in Room 13.
TOYS FOR TOTS APPLICATIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE in the rack outside the front office. Completed applications should be brought to the designated location on December 10th or 11th. See the form for further details.
IF YOU NEED TO LEAVE SCHOOL EARLY (FOR APPOINTMENTS, ETC.) PLEASE BRING A NOTE FROM YOUR PARENTS. Keep the note with you to show your teacher so you can get out of class. Turn the note in at Mr. Grusecki's office when you sign out. THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO GET YOU OUT AND WHERE YOU NEED TO BE GOING ON TIME! Please be sure to check out of class and be ready to go on time! It is your responsibility to watch the clock!
BUS PASS REQUESTS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING BEFORE SCHOOL Bus pass requests must be written (by a parent), turned in the Mr. Kiblinger's office BEFORE SCHOOL, and must have the address and name of the bus written on them. Passes requested before school can be picked up DURING LUNCH & AFTER SCHOOL ONLY.
WORK PERMITS If you are under 18 and have a job, you must have a WORK PERMIT! They can be found in the rack outside front office.

SENIOR CLASS MEETING: Tuesday at 8:00 AM (during Channel One) in the commons.

SENIORS: For those of you who did not place your cap and gown order with Josten's, he will be here Thursday, Dec. 10 to collect your orders. For anyone wishing to add to their existing order, he will take those orders as well.
CLASS RINGS WILL BE DELIVERED BY JOSTENS on Thursday, Dec. 10th, during lunch.
SENIORS: The signature shirts you ordered this week will not be here for another three weeks due to production time. We will distribute them when they arrive.
THE EARTH CREW WILL BE HOLDING THEIR ANNUAL CHRISTMAS CRAFT NIGHT on Wednesday, Dec. 9th, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. In the commons. Bring items to recycle into gifts. No charge. Everyone is welcome. Many projects are "kid-friendly". See the posters in the hallway or Ms. Owens' blog for details.

COUNSELING OFFICE NEWS...
THERE IS A LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE OFFERED BY MICHIGAN YOUTH LEADERSHIP (M.Y.LEAD) for interested sophomores. The conference is held May 14 - 16th at Michigan State University. Participants will develop the leadership skills necessary to become understanding and effective leaders of tomorrow. Conference activities include motivational speakers, panel discussions about current events, team-building exercises, and much more.
