ELK'S NATIONAL HOOP SHOOT FREE THROW CONTEST The qualifying round for all 8 - 13 year olds will be on Saturday, Nov. 7th, from 9:00 - 11:00 AM in the Tawas Area High School gym. For more information, pick up a flyer from the athletic office.

TAWAS KNOWLEDGE BOWL LOST THEIR GAME WITH AuGRES YESTERDAY 90 to 155. Tawas was ahead in the first round. AuGres jumped ahead in round 3 and Tawas made a valiant effort to catch up in round 4. Tawas' next game will be December 15, against Hale.
ANY SENIOR INTERESTED IN WORKING WITH THE HANDICAPPED OR MENTALLY DISABLED, see Mrs. K. Decker for a possible work experience for 2nd semester.
STUDENT COUNCIL MEETING: Friday, November 6th, in Ms. del Rio's Room #34. All members must attend with a list of completed hours.
STUDENT COUNCIL WILL BE SPONSORING A CAN DRIVE from Monday, Nov. 9th, through Friday, Nov. 20th, to be donated to Heart to Heart Food Pantry and Clothing Closet. Bring food items as well as paper products to your first hour class. The winners will get an awesome prize!
ANY 9TH OR 10TH GRADER INTERESTED IN CONTINUING THE GO FO IT! PROGRAM, can meet with Ms. Sass in room #2 every Wednesday during his/her lunch hour. We meet weekly with the exception of October 28th. See you on November 4th.
SEGMENT II DRIVER'S ED. CLASS will be available at Tawas Area High School on November 17, 18 and 19. Cost is $25.00 and is available for all students who have held a level one drivers license for 3 months and have 30 hours of practice driving completed. FISH GIFTHOUSE APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE IN ALL SCHOOL OFFICES. For families struggling to make ends meet who are in need of help with Christmas gifts. You must live in Iosco County to be eligible. Applications are due November 20, 2009.
ATTENTION B LUNCH STUDENTS: If you like visiting the school store at lunch, then you need to clean up after yourself and others in the hallway. The store will be closed this week due to the mess in the halls last week.
IF YOU NEED TO LEAVE SCHOOL EARLY (FOR APPOINTMENTS, ETC.) PLEASE BRING A NOTE FROM YOUR PARENTS. Keep the note with you to show your teacher so you can get out of class. Turn the note in at Mr. Grusecki's office when you sign out. THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO GET YOU OUT AND WHERE YOU NEED TO BE GOING ON TIME! Please be sure to check out of class and be ready to go on time! It is your responsibility to watch the clock!
BUS PASS REQUESTS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING BEFORE SCHOOL Bus pass requests must be written (by a parent), turned in the Mr. Kiblinger's office BEFORE SCHOOL, and must have the address and name of the bus written on them. Passes requested before school can be picked up DURING LUNCH & AFTER SCHOOL ONLY.
WORK PERMITS If you are under 18 and have a job, you must have a WORK PERMIT! They can be found in the rack outside front office.

THE DEADLINE FOR THE DECEMBER 12TH ACT TEST IS FRIDAY, NOV 6th. Don't delay, send your application in!
SENIOR STUDENT ATHLETES (male & female) meeting the requirements of a 3.5 GPA and having earned at least one varsity letter in an MHSAA sport can submit an application for the MHSAA Scholar-Athlete. Stop in the counseling office for information. Applications must be returned to the counseling office by Monday, November 23, 2009.

CHEERLEADING TRYOUTS ARE CANCELLED FOR TODAY, Wednesday, November 4th. There will be a clinic at Clara Bolen on Thursday, November 5th, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Cheerleading tryouts will be Monday, November 9th, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Clara Bolen Elementary.
BOYS IN GRADES 10-12 WHO ARE INTERESTED IN PLAYING BASKETBALL THIS YEAR: There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, November 4th, at lunch in Coach Woelke's room #33. If you cannot attend the meeting make sure you see either Coach Decker or Coach Woelke sometime this week.
