TODAY'S NEWS…

NHS: ALL NHS MEMBERS MUST ATTEND THE INDUCTION CEREMONY on Tuesday, April 28th. We need volunteers for cookies, punch and set up see Sammy Duvall or Jenny Jacques.

ATTENTION SPANISH CLUB: Los Lobos Locos & "Oye Como Va" Tuesday, April 14th & 21st, at 6:45 AM. Burritos Divertidos & "De Todo Un Poco" Thursday, April 16th & 23rd, at 6:45 AM.

BE SURE TO LISTEN TO WKJC 104.7 ON WEDNESDAY MORNING from 6:00 - 9:00 AM as Callie Anderson, Ali Jungquist, and Caroline Weber participate on Stump the Chump radio program. They will be promoting this Friday's donkey basketball game and the Spanish Club's Relay For Life team.

DONKEY BASKETBALL IS BACK! Please attend this hilarious event that will benefit the Spanish Club and Relay For Life. It will take place in the high school gym on Friday, April 24th, at 7:00 PM. See the trophy case for more information. According to the donkey basketball company, everyone participating in the event (riders, dancers, and cheerleaders) must pay for a ticket.

DONKEY BASKETBALL TICKETS ARE ON SALE. For your convenience, you may purchase them before school and at lunch this week. See Mrs. Grusecki for any questions.

SPANISH CLUB MEMBERS: Your donkey basketball ticket money needs to be turned in by noon on Friday.


OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION...

DETENTION Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays after school in Mrs. Whetstone's room (#36) from 2:45 - 3:45 PM. Wednesday morning detention will be in Mrs. Kosto's art room from 7:15 - 7:55 AM.

IF YOU NEED TO LEAVE SCHOOL EARLY... (for appointments, etc.) please bring a note from your parents. Keep the note with you to show your teacher so you can get out of class. Turn the note in to the office when you sign out. THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO GET YOU OUT AND WHERE YOU NEED TO GO ON TIME. Please be sure to check out of class and be ready to go on time! It is your responsibility to watch the clock!

BUS PASS REQUESTS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING BEFORE SCHOOL Bus pass requests must be written (by a parent), turned in to the office BEFORE SCHOOL and must have the address and name of the bus. Passes requested before school can be picked up DURING LUNCH & AFTER SCHOOL ONLY.

WORK PERMITS If you are under 18 and have a job, you must have a WORK PERMIT! They are in the rack outside the high school office.


COUNSELING OFFICE NEWS...

JUNIORS & SENIORS - THERE IS ONE MORE TEST DATE FOR THE ACT TEST this school year. Tawas High School will host it on Saturday, June 13th. Whether you are registering online or by mail the registration deadline is Friday, May 8th.

REMINDER - SENIORS! The Kiwanis Scholarship applications are due on Friday, April 24th. Get them in!

SPORTS NEWS...

THE BOYS TRACK TEAM TOOK 6TH AT THE STANDISH INVITATIONAL FRIDAY but were only 6 points short of 4th place. Metal Winners were: Jeff Janis took 1st in Long Jump 21' 07", 2nd in the 200 with a 22.74, and 2nd in the 100 with a 11.191; Ben Enzenberger took 4th in the High Jump 5' 7"; Eric Wilk took 4th in the 300 Hurdkes with a 46.11; the 400 Meter Relay of (Revord, Fuller, Siwek, Janis) took 3rd with a 46.18; Rueben Baker took 4th in the 400 with a 56.06. Others of interest: In his only third day of Pole vault ever Jeremy Dosh jumped 10' and took 7th.

THE GIRLS JV SOCCER TEAM ENDED IN A 0-0 TIE FRIDAY AGAINST ALPENA. Shelly Rouse was outstanding in goal with 10 saves. Karli Stevelinck was a defensive standout.

ATTENTION JV & VARSITY GIRLS SOCCER PLAYERS: Team pictures have been rescheduled to Thursday, April 23rd.
