SENIORS, WORK HAS BEGUN ON THE CLASS OF 2009 PICTURE SHOW. If you have pictures that you would like to lend to be scanned into the show, bring them to room 24 and put them in the box. Make sure they have your name on the back, so they can be returned to you. Please bring your pictures in as soon as possible.
STUDENTS INTERESTED IN SEGMENT I DRIVERS ED CLASS can sign up in the Counseling Office. The next class will begin the week of April 27th. This class will be for students NOT participating in spring sports. There will be another class starting the beginning of June.
IOSCO PRIDE COMMUNITY PERFORMANCE this Saturday at 7:00 PM at the Oscoda High School auditorium.
NHS MEMBERS: An audit has been done of your hours. Seniors, you need to check your folders in Ms. del Rio's room to see how many hours you need to complete (before April 14th) to be eligible to graduate as a member of NHS.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION...
DETENTION Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays after school in Mrs. Whetstone's room (#36) from 2:45 - 3:45 PM. Wednesday morning detention will be in Mrs. Kosto's art room from 7:15 - 7:55 AM.
IF YOU NEED TO LEAVE SCHOOL EARLY... (for appointments, etc.) please bring a note from your parents. Keep the note with you to show your teacher so you can get out of class. Turn the note in to the office when you sign out. THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO GET YOU OUT AND WHERE YOU NEED TO GO ON TIME. Please be sure to check out of class and be ready to go on time! It is your responsibility to watch the clock!
BUS PASS REQUESTS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING BEFORE SCHOOL Bus pass requests must be written (by a parent), turned in to the office BEFORE SCHOOL and must have the address and name of the bus. Passes requested before school can be picked up DURING LUNCH & AFTER SCHOOL ONLY.
WORK PERMITS If you are under 18 and have a job, you must have a WORK PERMIT! They are in the rack outside the high school office.
COUNSELING OFFICE NEWS...
STUDENTS THAT WILL BE JUNIORS & SENIORS NEXT YEAR have an opportunity to participate in the annual Young People's Citizenship Seminar being held on the campus of Northwood University in Midland. This five-day seminar, being held June 22-26, gives students a working knowledge of local, state and national government. Stop in the counseling office for more information.
INTERESTED IN LAW ENFORCEMENT? The Michigan State Police Law Enforcement is offering a week long career academy June 21-26, 2009. This week may include activities and classes in defensive tactics, first aid, water safety, military drill, K-9 and other various areas. This is offered through our local Kiwanis Club. Sophomores, juniors or seniors interested can stop by the Counseling Office for more information.
SENIORS...REMINDER OF DEADLINE DATES FOR SCHOLARSHIPS: The Eagles Scholarship is due to the Counseling Office Friday, March 27th, and the Ladies Literary Club Scholarship is due Wednesday, April 1st.
THE WHITTEMORE SPEEDWAY SCHOLARSHIP applications are now available in the counseling office. Deadline to address given is April 20, 2009.
